Bakhmaro is a remote alpine paradise in the Lesser Caucasus. You’ll ski a wide range of terrain: powder bowls, glades, gullies, open runs, and dense forests — all accessed by snowcat (no lifts). The area is 80 km² with vertical drops of 400–1,000m per run.
Expect:
Wide open powder runs
Technical gullies and mellow tree skiing
Snow-covered abandoned cabins and untouched glades
Deep, light powder thanks to Bakhmaro’s sea-mountain microclimate
-
Most groups get 8–12 runs per day, totaling 3,500–4,500 vertical meters. Terrain choice varies by snow and group ability.
-
All guides are IFMGA and GMGA certified — the highest international standard. They’re experienced in first aid, avalanche forecasting, and mountain rescue, and each group has:
1 lead guide and 1 tail guide (1:6 ratio)
Constant radio contact with snowcat/lodge
Emergency kits and satellite phone on hand
-
Mandatory:
Avalanche transceiver
Shovel
Probe
Avalanche airbag backpack
Rentals are available if booked in advance. Helmets are highly recommended.
-
